A Woman Of Color Breaking Ground
As the daughter of Jamaican immigrants, BG (MA) Andrea Gayle-Bennett knows the importance of hard work and giving back. Andrea earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from City College of New York’s Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education in Physician Assistant Studies in 1981, a Master of Education degree from Lesley College in Business Management in 1988 and a Doctor of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Medicine in 2021.
Brigadier General (MA) Andrea Gayle-Bennett, PhD, PA-C, DMSc, Deputy Secretary of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans’ Services, Commander DAV Department of Massachusetts. General Bennett will speak about her military journey as the first woman of color colonel in the state of Massachusetts, her path to becoming a Brigadier General, and her educational journey as a non-traditional student, earning a PhD in her 60s.
